Announcement of the 14th ISPACOS Symposium

The 14th ISPACOS Symposium will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 13:00 to 15:00 (Japan Standard Time).
This symposium will focus on “The Current State of Healthcare Costs.”
The High-Cost Medical Expense Benefit System recently drew public attention when the planned increase in the out-of-pocket threshold, scheduled for this August, was postponed after several policy reversals.
Why, in the first place, was this increase considered necessary?
Is it true that Japan’s universal health insurance system—often described as one of the most distinctive in the world—is beginning to show signs of dysfunction?
Healthcare and economic issues have a profound impact not only on patients and healthcare professionals but on society as a whole. In this symposium, we will seek to understand the background to these challenges from both macro and micro perspectives, and discuss what each of us can do.
The symposium will be held at the Arayama Noboru Memorial Hall, 13th Floor, Building 7, Juntendo University (Hongo–Ochanomizu Campus).
Participation will also be available online via Zoom.
This symposium will provide a valuable opportunity for patients, family members, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, researchers and representatives from healthcare-related companies to exchange perspectives from their respective positions.
