Announcement of the 12th ISPACOS Symposium
The symposium has ended. Thank you very much for your participation.
The 12th ISPACOS Symposium will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 13:00 to 15:00 (Japan Standard Time).
This symposium will be conducted both at the Juntendo venue and online.
The in-person venue is Conference Room, Building No. 10, 1st Floor, Hongo-Ochanomizu Campus, Juntendo University.
At this symposium, which has the theme “Let Us Build Patient-Centered Care Together,” we invite all participants to join us in an open and constructive discussion.
We would be very happy if we could bring together views from every perspective—patients, family members, physicians, nurses, pharmacists, researchers and healthcare industry representatives—on what can be done and what is needed. We also warmly welcome online participation.
● Venue: Conference Room, Building No. 10, 1st Floor, Hongo–Ochanomizu Campus, Juntendo University
● Participation Fee: Free
In addition, we are planning a keynote lecture on pharmaceuticals.
Have you ever heard of a type of medication called “biosimilars”?
Biosimilars are follow-on versions of biologic medicines (also known as reference biologics). Biologic medicines are pharmaceutical products manufactured, extracted or semi-synthesized using living organisms, and are widely used in the treatment of various diseases.
Biosimilars are developed by manufacturers other than those of the original biologic medical products. To receive regulatory approval, they must demonstrate comparable quality, safety and efficacy to the reference biologics, based on comprehensive analytical and clinical evaluations.
As biosimilars are typically offered at lower prices than reference biologics, their adoption is expected to help reduce patients’ financial burden and contribute to the sustainability of healthcare systems by lowering overall medical expenditures.
