Activities and Membership of ISPACOS
The principal activity of ISPACOS is the symposium. A symposium is an academic forum in which a theme requiring multifaceted consideration is examined from various perspectives through research presentations, the sharing of viewpoints, and the exchange of ideas.
Placing patients at the heart of its mission, ISPACOS aims to bring together and connect individuals from diverse backgrounds who are involved in cancer in various capacities. Accordingly, ISPACOS considers the symposium to be its most significant activity.
In keeping with this philosophy, ISPACOS warmly invites those who have participated or who participate in its symposiums to join our community (“ISPACOS Friends”).. Furthermore, individuals who have made notable contributions in support of ISPACOS may be invited to advance to the next level of membership as “Members.”
Join ISPACOS Friends
We are a community of patients, family members, healthcare professionals and researchers who come together to share, learn, and support one another.
Here you will find information about membership categories, their definitions and roles, as well as how you can become part of our community.
1.ISPACOS Friends (No Membership Fee)
When registering for one of our symposiums, you will be asked whether you would also like to join as an ISPACOS Friend. There is no membership fee.
As a Friend, you will receive:
- Information about our twice-yearly symposium
- Updates and news about ISPACOS activities via our mailing list
With the prior consent of our Friends, we may occasionally conduct anonymous surveys. The summarized results will be shared with participants. If you wish, you may also join our social media group, “ISPACOS Friends Plaza,” where members can connect, share experiences, and communicate with one another in a supportive environment.
2. ISPACOS Member (No Membership Fee)
Among our ISPACOS Friends, we warmly invite those who have kindly supported our activities—for example by giving a presentation at a symposium, participating in surveys, or introducing others to our community—to become ISPACOS Members.
The ideas and suggestions of our members are sincerely valued and are reflected in the discussions of the Steering Committee. There is no membership fee. However, publications issued by ISPACOS, including symposium proceedings, are available for purchase.
3. ISPACOS Supporting Member
We are hoping to welcome those who generously support the ongoing activities and operations of ISPACOS through financial contributions as Supporting Members. Additional information will be announced as soon as it becomes available.
All members are free to withdraw at any time by completing a simple withdrawal process.
